We catalyze research and cultivate partnerships that advance business solutions to global environmental problems.
The Center is home to the United States’ oldest joint-degree program in business and the environment. Launched in 1982, the program merges two world-class graduate schools—the Yale School of Management and the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies—with an active network of renowned business leaders. Together, these schools share more than 150 years of experience studying ecological and organizational systems, a legacy and depth of expertise unmatched anywhere in the world.
Our approach is characterized by pragmatic optimism: we hold simultaneous ambitions for incremental and systemic change. While we recognize that this kind of work takes time, we also recognize a profound urgency in the work that we do.
Fundamentally, the Center is a place for building interdisciplinary and innovative connections. We work with students, professors, alumni, corporate executives, governments and NGOs that possess both a common desire and an uncommon drive for improving the state of the world.
Too often, the relationship between business and our environment is described through a checklist of problems. Join us in identifying and advancing the multifaceted solutions needed to solve these problems.
