Joe Schiavo is a third-year joint Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Environmental Science (MESc) candidate at Yale University. He is interested in the economics and finance of energy projects, technology innovation, and market strategy in the power and utilities industries.
As part of Yale’s Environmental and Natural Resource Economics Group, Joe’s research is focused on the economics of regulatory policy in the power industry. He is also interested in the air pollution impacts of transitioning coal-fired power plants to burn natural gas.
Joe’s business experience includes advising merchant power, renewable energy, regulated utility, and transportation industry clients on M&A and financing in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division. Joe also advised Fortune 500 companies on business strategy, data analytics, and operations as a Senior Consultant in IBM’s Global Business Services unit.
Joe holds a BA in International Studies from Vassar College (Phi Beta Kappa).
