Fairuz is a recent graduate from the Master of Environmental Management at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies (F&ES) with the specialization in Energy and the Environment. During her time at F&ES she was co-leader of the Yale Extractive Industries Working Group (XWG) and member of the Energy Student Interest Group. In the summer of 2015 she identified energy-saving opportunities at Legrand North America’s (LNA) manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico as an EDF Climate Corps Fellow.
Before coming to Yale she worked for four years as Advisor to the Undersecretary of Electricity at the Secretary of Energy in Mexico. Fairuz graduated with honors from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City with a B.A. in Mechatronics and Production Engineering. She enjoys acting in musical comedies and playing softball as fielder.
