Katherine Hamilton, Carbon Program Manager for Ecosystem Marketplace, offers a primer on the voluntary carbon markets, both what they are and how they work.  In addition, she will present her recent research on market trends, quantifying prices and volumes transacted in the marketplace, and evolving standards.

Ms. Hamilton a Yale F&ES Alumna, has authored numerous articles on carbon and water markets, as well as co-authored the book Voluntary Carbon Markets and the recently released report "State of the Voluntary Carbon Markets 2007".  Katherine has also worked at the United Nations Development Program (Latin America / Caribbean), the Yale Center for Environmental Law & Policy, Natural Capitalism Solutions and the International Council for Science as Program Coordinator for the U.N. World Summit for Sustainable Development.
